This NFP provides accommodation, support services, and community assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness while working collaboratively to reduce homelessness through long-term community partnerships.

Vantage Performance was involved with the organisation for almost a decade, serving initially as Treasurer, then Chairman for six years, before remaining on the Board to support leadership transition to a new Chairperson.

At the time of engagement, the organisation was experiencing significant operational and governance pressure following the sudden departure of both the Treasurer and the entire accounting team.

As a result:

  • Reliable financial management and reporting had not existed for more than six months

  • The CEO and Board had limited visibility into the organisation’s financial position

  • Governance capability and reporting processes required urgent stabilisation

  • Confidence within leadership was deteriorating during a critical operational period

Vantage Performance supported the organisation through a broad governance and financial transformation program designed to restore confidence, strengthen accountability, and support long-term growth.

Key initiatives included:

  • Recruitment and training of a new accounting and finance team

  • Restoration and modernisation of financial management and reporting systems

  • Transition from qualified special-purpose accounts to unqualified audited general-purpose financial statements

  • Strengthening of board governance processes and regular board performance reviews

  • Development of a stronger director succession and recruitment pipeline focused on highly capable professionals

  • Support for leadership alignment and long-term strategic planning initiatives

A major milestone was the successful delivery of a transformative capital project for the organisation.

Working alongside the CEO, former Chairperson, Board, and leadership team, the organisation successfully secured land and funding to develop a new $35M facility.

The award-winning development:

  • Increased accommodation capacity by approximately 150 beds

  • Strengthened the organisation’s ability to support Perth’s homeless community
